Euro 2022 kicks off on July 6th and we are here to preview this festival of football, set to be the biggest women's euro's yet. We'll be previewing Europe's best, rating their chances, understanding how far they've come and comparing them to Europe's singing elite...

Getting to know the Groups



On 28th October 2021 in Greater Manchester, all sixteen qualified teams were drawn into groups with the teams they would do battle with the following summer. Each of the teams were sorted into four pots, with the hosts and highest ranked teams by Uefa (European Football's governing body) placed into pot one, the next four highest ranked into pot two, the next four teams into pot three and I'm imagining by now you get the idea. One team from each pot were drawn into four groups of four, and the stage was set. 

*Russia partook in the original draw having beaten Portugal in the qualifying play offs, however following their invasion of Ukraine they were banned from participation by Uefa with their play off opponents Portugal the beneficiary of the vacant place at the finals this Summer.
